Dance Academy USA Dress Code

Dress Code Notes

A note on shoes: It is very important for the safety and health of your dancer that they wear shoes that fit properly. Allowing too much room for growth may increase the potential for accidents (tripping) and ankle or knee problems from increased torque on the joints while changing directions or turning. Jazz and Ballet shoes will stretch as they are worn, and the foot shortens when a dancer points their toes, so please take this into consideration when purchasing your dance shoes. A good rule of thumb is to fit your child’s dance shoes like socks, rather than athletic shoes. For the health and safety of your child, your teacher’s decision is final regarding the fit of your child’s dance shoes.

We understand that some students come straight from school, however, please pack your dancer a change of clothing for dance class. A school uniform or school attire should NOT be worn in dance class. No Jeans are allowed in any dance class.

All dance shoes should be put on after arriving at the studio and taken off before leaving to prolong the life of the shoes and our special dance floors.

If your dancer comes to class with incorrect clothing, foot attire, or hair is not pulled back out of face, class participation is at the discretion of the teacher.

This is for the Safety of your dancer.
