Ms. Charlene

Charlene has over 30 years experience training in the disciplines of Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical, Contemporary and Songleading. During her elementary and middle school years, she participated in competitions and frequently earned scholarships at conventions throughout California. In high school, Charlene was a four-year member of the Archbishop Mitty Varsity Competitive Dance Team. She was captain during her junior and senior years and was awarded the title of USA All-Star for two consecutive years. She was also named Scholar-Athlete of her dance team for maintaining the highest GPA on the team. Charlene attended Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, where she received a BS in Graphic Communications. While in college, Charlene was a member of Orchesis Dance Company. She regularly took classes at the world renowned EDGE and Millennium Dance studios in Los Angeles. Her professional credits include Alice in Wonderland and The Nutcracker. Charlene has been a staff member at DAU for over 10 years. She and her husband have two beautiful children, one of which is already following in mom's footsteps here at DAU. Charlene is one of DAU's sought-after Performing Company teachers and loves working with her students to inspire them to be the best they can be.
