Ms. Mimi

Mimi was raised in San Francisco and started learning all genres of dance from ballroom to traditional cultural dances from a young age. She officially started her formal hip hop training in 2015 with competition team, Str8jacket, from San Mateo. Her passion is mainly for Waacking, a type of underground hip hop style.

She has competed in competitions such as Prelude Norcal, Collaboration & World of Dance: Bay Area, Los Angeles & Finals. She then moved on to performing with the Tribe Dance Company from San Carlos, in events like SF Hip Hop Dance Festival as well as performing in productions such as Hip Hop Cinderella & The Hip Hop Nutcracker.

Now mostly focusing on teaching, freestyling & further development in her own style, Mimi's goals are to not only continue the learning & development in her students' techniques, but to also be able to help build their confidence in their own styles as rising dancers.
