Ms. Sarah C.
Ms. Sarah began her dance training at the age of three, and eventually focused-in on classical ballet, pointe, contemporary and modern.
She studied at the Eastern Connecticut Ballet under Gloria Govrin who is a former New York City Ballet soloist, and Libby Nye who is a former Jose Limon dancer. She held lead roles in The Nutcracker, Balanchine's Raymonda Variations, and Jose Limon's Choreographic Offering. She also trained at American Ballet Theater and Atlanta Ballet's Summer Intensives.
Ms. Sarah graduated from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition, and a Minor in Dance. Throughout college, Sarah continued to take classes and had the opportunity to perform as a cast member in several MFA shows through the Ohio State dance program.
Upon graduation, she joined Columbus Modern Dance Company as a professional dancer and had the pleasure of performing various repertoire during their ’16-17 season. Ms. Sarah also led the company’s open adult ballet master classes.
In 2017, Sarah relocated to the Bay Area and has since been on staff with Dance Academy USA teaching our advanced level students in Ballet, Pointe, Contemporary and Lyrical. Sarah danced with Perspectives Dance Co. for their 2019-2020 season under the direction of Lindsey McLevis. Currently, Sarah is dancing professionally with ArcTangent Dance, a contemporary dance based company, as an original member since 2018. In addition to teaching and performing, Ms. Sarah also works as a Registered Dietitian.
Ms. Sarah brings nine years of dance teaching experience to the DAU student-body and will be joining the Competition Staff for the 2022-2023 season.
